fight to restore love

What is there to say about the death of love or the fight for its return? Why are we so loath to let go or move on?  What is it about the commitment of the bond of romantic or sexual love? 

 

Intimacy and trust go hand in hand. We see the best and worst of each other in our love relationships. We let down our own guard and are open and tender.  The parts of our souls as well as the physical body, that even though beautiful are private, are revealed here. And this is where we turn and return to for help, baring us when we feel broken or ugly.  These aspects are often kept shielded in more public relationships.Trust in intimate and loving relationships is a basis of strength.

 

So when trust is broken, in large ways such as direct sexual activity with another, or small breaks of faith such as allowing someone to speak badly of our mate in jest, the injury is deeper, and the ridicule hurts more.

 

More importantly, this is where we create the living of our lives, and it holds the promise of the future. We hope to redeem trust and continue; to salvage our creation and maintain the living and repair the love.  If honesty and the wholeness of integrity are restored, then a future can be created with love.
